THE WEEK IN REVUE

Highlights that happened this week. Don’t worry, you’re not missing anything (now, that is).
1. MAKE MINE A MARTINY. I attended the brand-new Jackson Hole Fine Art Fair this week and was surprised to bump into world-renowned artist Donald Martiny, who was as delightfully engaging as he is talented. See his work on permanent display at the One World Trade Center in New York City or this November at Dimmett Contemporary in Houston.
2. HAIR OF THE DOG. We recently came back from a hike and Lily was absolutely covered head to toe in burrs. I posted about the best comb I’ve found to remove them, and learned that I have many fellow Mason Pearson devotees who were amused and delighted to find that the splurge-worthy hairbrushes are equally worth it for woman’s best friend.
3. MY DRY SENSE OF HUMOR FOUND ITS WAY TO MY SKIN. But here are seven products that are helping to save it this fall.
4. THE ICKIER SIDE OF #INFLUENCING. An interior designer, a blog writer, and two marketing experts walk into a wine bar… and talk about social media, careers, and our children’s future. I am extremely grateful to have great girlfriends both in Jackson Hole and Dallas who are willing to share—and laugh about the thornier issues in life, including how to navigate work, family, and friendships in today’s #influencer world. I read this fascinating (and frankly, rather uncomfortable) piece from The Cut this week that deals with some of those exact concerns.
5. WINTERLAND IS COMING. I attended the world premiere of Teton Gravity Research’s new film, Winterland, and am totally excited for ski season. The energy of the sold-out crowd alone was enough to make me want to go wax my skis immediately—I even drank a beer, yes a beer, in solidarity. The beautifully shot film is a collision of art and athleticism, and is on tour now — make it a date night.
Bon weekend!
