GET ME OUT OF HERE: FALL TRAVEL ESSENTIALS

While living vicariously through Instagram beach weekends and warm-weather August getaways, our household has quietly kept our heads down and sweated out the last official month of summer during an especially busy work time in Dallas. In Texas, summer in September just won’t go home—the pools are closing, the seersucker is put away, and yet, in spite of fall’s unofficial arrival, summer is determined to remain. To that I say, get me out of here.
I have not nearly begun to transition into a fall wardrobe, but with quite a bit of upcoming travel to cooler climes the next few months, I have streamlined just a handful of my essentials that help make travel an autumn breeze:
PETER MILLAR CASHMERE PONCHO
Peter’s for the boys, right? Actually, their women’s line continues to grow, and this cashmere poncho is the number one thing I simply will not fly without. I have loved my camel version for the past few years, and just ordered another one in gray. The cashmere is super soft, long-lasting, comes in multiple colors, and is at an unbeatable price point. It’s also perfect to wrap up in on the plane or to top off a simple outfit without bulky layering. Here’s another wrap I’m planning to add into the rotation.
MZ WALLACE TOTE
I was influenced. Thanks to the Potted Boxwood, whose excellent taste I have come to trust for both interior design savvy and almost any other recommendation, I have completely fallen for MZ Wallace. Their totes are lightweight, extremely practical, and very chic. I don’t know what I ever did before the Sutton Tote, which fits my laptop, a purse, needlepoint, and any other items I can’t live without.
INTELLIGENT NUTRIENTS LIQUID GREEN
This clean, addictive oil has been part of my travel routine for years, and while it recently changed names to Liquid Green, it is still my fail-safe facial refresher at any and every altitude. It does exactly what it promises, and for $68 is well worth the investment.
AVENE COLD CREAM LIP BALM
I swear by this stuff and carry multiple tubes. It is just what you need to truly replenish and lock in moisture after the dehydrating cabin air does a number on your lips.
TSA TIPS…
I also prefer to travel with a flat that is easy to slip on and off, and am currently wishing for these and this $108 pair.
And these cases from Truffle just make everything a bit easier to keep track of your liquids and gels and everything else in between.
